MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance in Summit County, Ohio Is Gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations!

While those of us around the Northeast Ohio region have felt the effects of the polar vortex that swept across the Midwest this past week, the students at MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance haven’t let the cold slow them down! Not only is MacConmara’s Irish dance team preparing for upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations throughout the Summit County, Ohio; Stark County, Ohio; and Portage County, Ohio areas, but those not a part of Celtic Storm will be participating in a dance workshop led by Irish dance instructor Marcus Maloney in just a few weeks. Plus, one of MacConmara’s own students will be heading to Orlando in mid-February to show off his skills at the NAFC Championships! Tyler will be competing in this prestigious dance competition while Teresa Seeman-Buck, one of MacConmara’s experienced teachers, will be helping to run the event.

It seems that the students at MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance are always keeping busy, and this season is no different. As one of MacConmara’s visiting Irish dance instructors will be arriving from Ireland in February, students will be given the opportunity to participate in a dance workshop led by one of the most accomplished Irish dance professionals in the world. Students taking part in this dance workshop will be given the training they need from Marcus Maloney in order to improve their skills and prepare them for future dance competitions.

MacConmara Academy of Irish Dance’s methods are obviously effective as several of their students have gone on to perform at a regional, national, and global level! In mid-February, one of MacConmara’s most talented students will be competing at the NAFC Championships in Orlando. This dance competition will bring together Irish dancers from all over the country, and MacConmara Academy is proud to not only have one of their own students there, but one of their Irish dance instructors as well. Teresa Seeman-Buck, MacConmara’s founder, will also be going to Orlando in order to assist with the event.

Finally, while it may only be January, some of MacConmara’s students are busy preparing for many of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations that will be taking place around the Stark County, Summit County, and Portage County areas. As their Irish dance team has performed at a number of events over the years, they are eager to see what this year will bring.
